Is there a difference between a “twin scroll” turbo and a “twin turbo” engine?

Answer

twin scroll Turbo is one turbo with two different sized openings on the exhaust side of the turbo, usually there is a smaller scroll and a larger scroll. only the small scroll is open at lower RPM for quicker turbo response with both scrolls open at higher RPMs.

Twin turbos refer to an engine with two (different) Turbo. there are various ways to mount twin turbos either separately or in line.

Hope this helps
